‘You probably think we’re a bunch of barbarians...’

North of Eight is proud to present the World Premiere of a new Australian work by one of our Founding Members, Anthea Greco.

When a salt of the Earth family is reunited with its favourite member, love, joy and backhanded insults abound. Blink and you’ll miss the moment that through the chaos, the finger is lifted from the Philtrum.

We all want to be respected, right? Now more than ever, we believe it is our right to speak, to be heard, that our opinions matter. But what happens when the demand for respect outweighs the supply?

Enter Lysa, an uncompromising, self-made twenty something, determined to repathe the Path to Success with her powerful ideals of progress. Articulate and effervescent, Lysa is quickly scooped up by Spartan Finance, who are seeking to re-brand as a Feminist Friendly Financial Institution (and also seeking a great face to sell their product). Little do they know they've invited a gift horse into the boardroom, and success soon becomes a matter of perspective...

Lysa is a sharp and darkly comic play that asks, in these times of transition, progress and political correctness, is there room for us all at the top? Can we play the game without breaking our own rules?
